Jacqueline Cosnier Library in Lyon

The library of the GLPRA was recently renamed by representatives of its members Bibliothèque Jacqueline Cosnier, after Jacqueline Cosnier, who was one of the founder members the Lyonnais Group of the SPP, along with Jean Bergeret, Jean Guyotat, Robert Oudot and Charles Henri Nodet.
The Lyonnais Group of the SPP was founded in 1958. The library was created and followed the Group when it obtained its own premises in 1967 at Caluire. After reorganisation, it started to operate in 1969. In 1975 the Lyonnais Group was formally set up as an Association under the 1901 law. It had to move again to larger premises in 1980, when it went to 7 Rue Neuve in Lyon, with a final move in 1998 to its current address: 25 Rue Sala, Lyon 69002.
We should note that the GLPRA library, originally called Bibliothèque Sigmund Freud, received a legacy consisting of part of the library of Béla Grunberger and Janine Chasseguet-Smirgel.
Early 2021, the library offered a resource of 4500 documents including almost 1600 bulletins and reviews, and almost 3000 books. (2300 titles).
The library is available to the members of the SPP, members of the GLPRA, and to students of the training institutes of the SPP. The manager of the library is responsible for its organisation, and is appointed by the present Board for periods of two consecutive years.
Currently, digital searches and possible loans are carried out on lines manned by GLPRA volunteer members, on Friday afternoons between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. when the premises are regularly frequented.
