Résumé : |
The European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) was founded in 1992 as an independent, non-profit, umbrella organization for European National Psychiatric Trainees’ associations. It undertakes a number of activities related to advocacy, improving psychiatry training and professional networking. Most of these are run through its Working Groups, including the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Working Group.
Through its CAP Working Group and the wider network of CAP trainees across Europe, the EFPT has gained extensive insight on different CAP training systems in Europe and works on different projects to identify various issues in European CAP training, including off-label medication use, deployment of practical courses in psychiatry, and psychotherapy training. The CAP Working Group keeps the trainee network alive and growing while collaborating with other professional psychiatric international organizations including EPA, UEMS-CAP, ESCAP, IACAPAP and WPA to help improve the visibility and training circumstances of CAP in Europe. In this article, we will outline the overall work and function of the EFPT, the position of CAP trainees in the organization, the roles EFPT-CAP trainees play to shape the future of the European CAP, and the recent EFPT-CAP projects as well as the prospective directions. |
