Ans van Mastrigt. A child in Freud’s family.
Eissler’s interview with Ans van Mastrigt (1890–1985) is very surprising. As a 20-year-old, she accompanied her stepmother Ms. Keizer, who was in Vienna from autumn 1910 to summer 1912 with a wealthy, severely psychotic patient who was treated by Freud. Ans van Mastrigt became a regular at home with the Freuds and in the interview gives sharp observations of daily life in Freud’s home and of several analysts she knew.
